Automatic task manager for Telegram

An automatic task manager for Telegram groups

Most task tools need someone to keep them up to date. TXM does it automatically, from what your team writes in Telegram.

What happens automatically

Once TXM is in your group, these things happen without anyone doing them:

  • Tasks are created from requests and promises in the chat.
  • Owners are set from who was asked, or who said “I’ll do it”.
  • Due dates are set when someone mentions one (“by Friday”, “tomorrow morning”).
  • Status changes: in progress when someone starts, blocked when they wait for something, done when they say so, reopened when it breaks again.
  • Tasks are grouped by project, and tasks that depend on each other are linked.
  • Every task keeps its messages, so anyone can see where it came from.

What you still do

  • Add TXM to the group once, as an admin, so it can read the messages.
  • Look at the board, or type /mytasks, when you want to see what is open.
  • Now and then, fix a task by hand on the board. TXM keeps your change.

That is all. Nobody has to copy tasks into another app, and nobody has to remember to tick boxes.

A normal day

Time In the chat On the board
09:10 “@sara can you send the Q3 report to the client by Thursday?”
09:12 Sara: “sure”
09:30 New task: Send the Q3 report to the client, Sara, due Thursday
15:40 Sara: “report sent ✅”
16:00 The task is marked done, with Sara’s message as the reason

Manual tools vs an automatic one

Checklists, spreadsheets, boards TXM
Who creates tasks A person, by hand TXM, from the chat
Who keeps them current A person, by hand TXM, every 30 minutes
What happens when people forget The list goes stale Nothing changes: TXM reads what people already write
Where the team works In two places Only in Telegram

Set it up in three steps

  1. Add TXM to your group from the home page and make it an admin.
  2. Keep talking the way you do.
  3. Open the board inside Telegram, or type /mytasks, when you want to look.

If your group already has a long history, you can import it: export the chat from Telegram Desktop and upload it on the board. TXM finds the tasks in it, so the board starts full.

No. TXM reads normal messages, replies and screenshots.

How often does it update?
